How is holiday pay built into the pay rate

 

Can't hurt to try. Give them a call and see what happens. Be honest and explain that you applied at Norfolk as well, but would be willing to work at Capital Heights if given another chance.

 

Fulltimers get around 10 paid holidays. PTF's don't get any holiday pay. Instead they add your holiday pay into your payrate. So you would then make around .60-75 cent an hour more I think, compared to the Fulltimers.

 

Man this is confusing the posting said 10 paid holidays per year but if it's PTF why do they put it in the job posting

Yeah, I got no clue why they would post that. You'll find out real quickly that the government doesn't make ANYTHING easy to understand. We got 30 year Vets who still don't know half the rules. They'll hire PSE's and then change them to PTF's instead. So you can't go by what they post on the job listings.

And by the way, good luck tomorrow. Orientation is paid too.

A fellow pse clerk applied for holiday help. After interview/before orientation they asked if he wanted holiday or be a regular PSE (work passed January). Although they will bring you back after the holidays (if you want) before they hire any outside. Unfortunately...thats where the less than ideal workers get in.

So..doesnt matter what the posting says...it can change anytime.

And Im still bitter the crap they gave holiday pses...$100 gift cards backpack a hat and other usps stuff. Wheres my usps crap?
