Can a Blackmer pump used to pump fresh water long term?
We have an old two hole 4300 gal fuel truck we want to convert to a water hauler.
Will the vanes in the pump ‘swell up’ if continually immersed with fresh water?
    TIA

Most have chemical resistant composition, should work fine. Why not pipe in a drain?

Thought about that but, it is to be used as fresh water for power washing, spaying down radiators, etc., on remote frac sites. Got the pump out from underneath already, gonna set a ‘choo choo’ pump where the meter/register was, just before the hose reel.

Weld in a smaller pipe nipple and ball valve at a low point.
