I purchased used 2020 cascadia with fantastic EW4 warranty and it had 371k miles roughly. I purchased it December 14 2020. I worked so hard and saved $10,000 to put down payment. The guys who I bought it from (small dealer) took it to Freightliner Dealer on the first week of December. The problem was an intermittent vibration issue at low speeds. They kept it at the dealer until January 28th 2021 thats 2 months. They didn't fix the problem. Now, with the vibration there the emission SCR, DPF whatever you wanna call it has a problem, now it is in the dealer service yet again! I am having a very painful time because I cannot drive the vehicle and make any money to pay any bills at all! This vehicle in the shop literally since December and January. and Now its out of service again for the 3rd month. Sorry i realize there isn't much I can do now. But thought of just sharing my frustration and downfall as a way of venting. Guys, just when you buy a truck man, bring a mechanic with you, and test drive as much as you can, and make sure it is road ready when signing paperwork. dont let them say 'it will be road ready soon'. because it wont. I think that many used trucks are turned in by previous owner operators for a mechanical reason that they dont want to deal with so it will sit on the lot there without repair only to have the issue transfered to the new owner.

Did you take it to a dif. shop to have it run on a Dino. and get a print/out of ECM. That will tell you if codes were reset and how many it had, Take it to a shop that can fix it, ck with your ew4 guys to be sure that the shop is set up with them, before you go bust with a new truck.

I had a JPRO report ran from TA on a Texas run which i do know that the codes were reset here. I then took it to a non dealer where they dismissed the report. They apparantly do not like JPRO. It all checked out with them until the engine light for the DPF system turned on. They then ran a Regen test only to have it fail. They then had the truck towed to Freightliner dealer where I submitted the JPRO report to them. I did nothing else.

Idk what to say other than I’m sorry. If they can get your issue fixed you should have a good low mileage truck that will do you good. Then you can start making money again.

Just a thought. If you have a trailer to pull you could possibly lease a truck for a month or so. Maybe it isn’t workable with your situation.

At least you have warranty if they’ll work with you on it. Probably just a sensor bad or something with the emissions problem.

Work with the dealership, they sometimes will have a loaner or truck you can rent for a lower rate then outside places.

Another avenue is to see if the dealer will sell you a different truck and take the shop queen as part of the deal.

The small dealer that I dealt with are snakes. I do not recommend going to them nor will I ever go back there ever again. In the midst of this fiasco, while it was at the freightliner dealership for repair back in January the small dealership did not deliver me the truck so the deal was reversable. Meaning the whole deal could've got cancelled and they could have put me into another truck but they did not do that, even at my request they rejected it and forced me to wait 2 months.

Update: guys, in a twist of things for the good, its a miracle that the dealer said that the truck is ready for pickup. Apparently all that they needed was a software update. now, lets see if i can turn around the table and see if the truck will last me at least 3 months without any problems so i can get back on my feet. i'll update later.

PS: (OldeSkool) you may have been right brother.

I would suggest doing a rig dig report on the truck, to see if there are any other issues the selling dealership did not tell you about. Good luck
