Hello, guys. First post ever~ <3

I have a couple of questions!
I've always wanted to become a trucker since a very young age. Unfortunately, I'm a virgin to the wheel. Yes, this includes everything but a bicycle. Still more unfortunately, I'm very, very poor with an income of 200 dollars a month or less.

This forms my first (and second) question: Can I get a truck driver's licence right after getting a driver's licence? If not, how long must I have my licence before I can go to trucking school?

Nextly: Is there financial aid available for those questing to begin the journey of 18 wheels? Where the hell would I inquire?

And last: I'm very far from the standard image coming to mind upon the mention of the word 'trucker.' I'm very young, female, and look like I couldn't bench-press a gallon of milk. :(
    (I can.)
Will this be an obstacle in obtaining my dream of adventure on the white lines? I need answers, so I hope some of you have a few for me~
    Much love,

    Eskimo Pie.

Recently I went to a driving school and believe it or not, one student did not have a license!!!!!!!
Also I received a grant to attend school. Some go to a community college for training. With my grant I repay NOTHING!!!!!!!!

    Eskimo~Pie Thanks this.

Thanks so much for telling me~
I assume you need a car licence in order to get an 18 wheeler licence? If not then #### YEAH I'm going to school. To hell with learning to wrangle a Sedan!

How did you get your grant? Is there a place I can apply for online? :3
I'm so eager! Thanks for this little bit of news, you're very helpful. <3

I received my grant thought the state employment office (Missouri). But try to Google Driver Solutions. Yeah, you may find a company to paid for your schooling. But you will be under contract, and work for under .30 cents a mile. But a job is the main goal----right?

Because floating around silently in zero gravity while eating dehydrated ice cream looks a LOT more boring than running over prairie dogs at 90mph! >8D Bwahahaha!

This Drive Solutions looked like a really good idea until~

I noticed that you have to have your Driver's Licence for ONE YEAR before you can qualify to apply.
    #### it. D< There has to be somewhere that will teach a new driver.

I just thought of something- if all else fails, I could probably just apprentice an experienced trucker, if someone would be willing to teach me. Then at least when I went to get my CDL licence, I would be well prepared.
