most of all keep ur head up this industry is tough exspecially for new drivers...i started out at 18 i had my class A before i evan graduated high school and just hauled grain locally for a couple months until i knew this is what i wanted to do i come im a 3rd generation trucker so i know what its costs and takes to run a truck..at the age of 19 i purchased my first truck it was a 98 peterbilt 379exhd and i rented a trailer for a guy i used to help farm and i have done that for 2 years now until i finally got my truck paid off and just bought a 2010 trailer last week...im going to say your on the right track there are going to be alot of people out there expecting you to fail i know i had people who thought i was going to fail but u just got to prove them wrong there are good days in trucking and then there are horrible...they say there is a 90/10 rule in trucking 90% of it is boring as hell and only 10% is interesting..from what it sounds like to me u dont have ur class C yet i know in the state of iowa u have to have a permit for 6 months before u can get ur class C then u have to drive for 1 year before u can get ur full Class C then after that year u can get ur Class A after 3 tests and a pretrip and a driving test.. finding someone who can insure u might be an issue u might want to be aware of..i never went to any schools but ive been trying to drive anything with wheels since i was a toddler if u have any questions id be happy to anwsering them i know how hard it is to be young and get into the industry and suceed!
