Question about fuel tanks on Freightliner…

    What are the little rubber rings that go around the outside of the fuel tank caps on the fuel tanks for and what are they called? The black rubber rings that are hooked up to some kind of sensor that are right around the inlet to fuel up the fuel tanks.

    Must be a sensor somehow that lights up on the dash saying a cap is off.

    Try pulling a cap and see if a light or something comes on the dash.

    Cars are supposed to light the engine light when the gas fails or is missing. Yet you see people driving with their caps hanging down.
