Good morning to y'all!
So, I just got my CDL, about to go through orientation and training with Hogan (I'll make a thread when that starts)..
I have endorsements for double/triple and tank, and I'm about to go to TSA for the Hazmat (I'm short on cash right now.. Like, badly short).
Anyways. Should I expect to see a change in my paycheck related to those endorsements?
I know there should be a line if I haul HMT, but no idea for the others, or if it stacks.
Question about pays and endorsements

Depends on your company. Most do a hazmat load pay, or sell you some bs line about hazmat makng you more versatile and paying for itself.

*nods* I figured as much.
I was lucky enough to have an instructor currently working for them who pretty much shook me up and told me "you make #### sure that line is there if you placard your trailer for any ##### thing".
It made me curious about the rest. -
Hazmat is pretty useless although when i worked for jb #### and dot foods it was required (I guess I shouldn't say useless, if you're a fuel/chemcial guy you definitely need it) Never thought i would ever use my doubles/triples until I came to my current company where I was a shuttle driver for a bit.
Also have my twic card but I might as well rip that up. I did some port work for my dads company once and never again. Port workers are all scumbags who can die slow painful deaths for all i care, they treat you like garbage.
My hazmat experied a few months ago, dont see myself renewing it anytime soon. Have tankers and never used that one yet -
I don't see where Hogan does Hazmat, double/tripples, or tanks. They'er a dry box and refer outfit? As such why would you expect to get paid more by them for the endorsements?
-
Tank and doubles etc have their own differences in pay, but overall you will come out nearly the same each week. Just a matter of how much physical work you want to put in depending on what you haul.
I have done very well with hazmat and they paid me the same as any other freight. If there was a problem it was one particular dispatcher in Baltimore who gave me a hard time for bypassing the city on the keybridge delaying his problems another 40 minutes or so. He roared. I settled that permanently. I don't mind a little yelling, but for the money, they can roar at some other chump. lol. -
