Just watched a video in regards to EPA regs in 2021. It was referencing glider trucks that will be completely banned in 2021. So my question is this, would you have to buy a new truck at that time as the gliders will be obsolete? How often would one have to buy a truck after 2021?

Most likely means they will outlaw the building of gliders or curtail it to the point it is cost prohibitive to do it. They aren't going to say your equipment (livelihood) is now worth zero and you can't use it anymore. Over the long term the majority of trucks will all be emissions compliant.

I just posted a similar question. All I hear is the new trucks run terrible, the def is a scam. I currently am running a 379 with a 550 6NZ and I love this motor. It's given me 840000 trouble free miles, and would love to update to a new platinum 389 cab and chassis. I'm considering a new glider, but I want to be sure I can be in it for while.

I believe Fitzgerald went to court and beat the ban on gliders a few weeks ago.

I think the current administration is looking to make some changes in the upcoming regulations. The companies that do gliders have been trying to keep them a viable option...

to the OP, every truck has a sticker saying it "meets all applicable federal regulations at the time of manufacture" new regulations don't affect existing units so you can keep your old glider as long as you can keep it running and have someone who will lease it on. I've seen insurance companies that refuse anything over 20 years old but not every company does that.

That didn't work so well in California....
