Hey there! here we are again paying the beautiful UCR fees.... It has been straight forward for the last two years as we payed based on the number of trucks we own, however we had rented about 10 trucks for the second half of the year, do rentals need to be accounted for? some weeks we had 10, some 5 etc... and a little of topic but if they need to be counted in the UCR filing how about the MCS150?

Nope. Only what you own. Rental company is responsible for all fees on their inventory. Keep track of miles and you're good.

MCS150 states all owned or leased vehicles. I’m pretty sure any vehicle running under your #s, have to be listed.

So are carriers expected to update the MCS150 every time you rent a truck even for a day? Penske requires you to decal the trucks after 1 month of continuous use

I don’t know, maybe I’m wrong, I just did mine last week, Only things I noticed besides # of Vehicles, were name, and address changes. They want mileage for most recent year. My guess would be technically yes. But I doubt many do. I wonder, Ive rented a truck once, but it was to replace mine. Not as an added vehicle. You got Me. I just try to stay compliant, to avoid fines. They have gotten strict on keeping updated every 2 yrs. I forgot once, it wasn’t a big deal, got a nastygram, now they state big fines, up to 10k. Yikes!!!
