Really what? Your name implies you were in law enforcement, what's your take on it?

It's illegal even a broken liquor bottle with the seal broken in a car. How in the world should truck drivers think they can have a beer in the truck with all the consent laws.

You may be surprised how many cdl holders never read a cdl manual and have know idea what the laws are, they just go by what they heard at the truck stop......

No alcohol, EVER, ON THE TRUCK. Period, end of story. the consequences are severe.

Most companies don't want you even being IN the truck after you've consumed any alcohol and will fire you if you get caught. (And yes, you WILL get caught. You wouldn't believe the number of snitches in truck stops).

If you want to drink, wait til you take a 34, get a hotel room and get as hammered as you please.

And yes, in three companies I can name off the top of my head, even if you are carrying unopened souvenier beer, if you refuse a search, DOT will call the company, they will APPROVE the search, and you will get busted Really, just don't do it.

You can buy beer at most truck stops and get completely crap faced. Just no cans or bottles when you leave and you must be sober.

That is technically incorrect. You can most likely get away with it. But it is illegal to have it in your truck even parked at the truck stop. If someone sees you and calls the police you are screwed
