I see them on side streets, Etiwanda Ave, Valley Blvd, Philadelphia St. Washington Blvd, Bandini Blvd whereever a side street has trucks. there is a CHP and White Vans with a Blue EZ up. There is where you will find CARB.

I know they're everywhere in that state. -
Do they mostly look at trucks? I have a compliant truck but my reefer is a 2011 which is not compliant. Every now and then I get a crazy idea to run some produce out of there.

I have just started to research here. I’m from Washington but there may be some seafood to haul out of California. Most of it is only 15-20 miles into CA from OR. But there may be some from the pier in San Fran. I have a 95 Pete and 03 reefer. I’m pro rated but I am not sure if my truck can go into San Fran? Because of CARB. I’m going to call the dot but will never turn Down knowledge from other drivers

If you do not have a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF or Particulate Mater Filter) they would prefer you not go into Cali.
If you have had a retrofit done that is CARB certified you may be able to roll on in.
Not sure how the Cali Mileage exemption works....peterbilt_2005 Thanks this. -
After looking into it I’m not even gonna chance it. Staying out of cali!!
