I am thinking about doing the car hauling but i have some questions i was hoping someone could help me out with.
(I have asked these questions and i have gotten different answers)
(and my next step was to go talk to the CHP and ask them in person)
1.Do I need a another license besides the regular class c I already have?
for example if im goin to have a dually wit a trailier that totals roughly 70 feet and that can carry 3-4 cars, do i need another license?
(i have been told yeah and no, so hopefully someone can help me wit this, and then ill post my other questions)
thanx in advance

By the time most 1 tons with a 3 car hauler are loaded they gross out over 26,000 lbs. requiring a CDL A .
-
ok but #### i asked someone that was hauling 3 cars (suv, bmw, and and a extended titan) and he said no.
so is it required?
cuz these dont go over the scales as far as i know
thanx for the help -
They'd better go over the scales in the states I've been in . A titan ??? Isn't that a Nissan ? You asked . I told you . You need 3 pretty small cars to stay under 26,000 lbs. with a 3 car wedge .
-
yeah its not that i dont believe you
im tryna get more info (thats what this place is for i thought)
i thought maybe i was missin something, cuz more drivers (who haul) told me i didnt need a license other than a class c -
Over a certain tonnage, commercial, and having air brakes, is going to require a CDL. If your making money with the rig, it is deemed as commercial, and are required to stop at scales.
-
but its not a big rig
i dont know how to post pics but its jus a trailier with a dodge pick up
#### its crazy cuz im gettin all this different info
thanx for your help -
So it's got hydraulic brakes? Best thing to do then, is go down to the CHP, and get it from them.
-
i dont know if it will have those types of brakes, but im guessin no.
but yeah im goin to go to the chp and ask them but i thought maybe before i go theres a certain term i need to tell them otherwise they might get the wrong idea of my questions
thanx for your help jsmitty
i have more questions but ima wait to ask them, until i figure this out -
