So yes he can use poetic license. An it's fiction....get most of it right. If your character drops off in Ct. then that's where he drops off. Not like DOT is going to fine or ticket, or put OOS a fictional truck driver in a fictional book that doesn't really happen.

Some of the (Super bestselling Authors) I enjoy do a ton of research an still have to fib some of the details to make it fit the book/story/character/whatever.
