Ok, I went against my better judgement and done a lease program not a lease purchase but just leasing the truck from a company. I had 4 break downs and 3 different trucks in 2 months. Truck number 3 I'm in now while truck 2 gets fixed was suppose to be done today but i have not heard anything yet. My question is I was unassigned from truck 2 to truck 3 while 2 gets fixed. I won't to quit and I already have another company wanting to hire me now. If I just take back number 3 could they get me for abandonment to 2 if i don't go pick it up? What would you do?

    Walk away lease? Walk away.

    “What would you do?”
I’d review my operating contract ASAP.

I forgot about the walk away part. It is a walk away lease. And I will for sure look at my lease. Thanks.

I would never lease a truck when a good company job pays well and has no financial risk other than putting your 401(k) in a poor choice. Leasing a truck is like playing Three Card Monty. The company knows EVERYTHING about the lease and what it costs to operate a truck, plus they decide how much freight you get (or don't get) and you have to pay and pay until THEY say "stop". The company did not guarantee you even $1 in revenue every week but your are obligated to pay for the truck until the end of the contract. Why? Because someone *hinted* about how much more money you can make if you promise to pay all of the bills?

Like I said I went against my better judgement. Besides the company is good but the truck provider which isn't the company gives them run down trucks. My bad luck. And going against my gut..

We all make bad choices it's what you do after decides how it turns out really. Going into a lease is a gamble and you must have a game plan because the deck will be stacked against you.
It's like going to a casino the house normally always wins. They may let you win a few small hands in blackjack but once you put the big money on the table they will knock you down that's how they roll. They are really designed make you figure out if you want a truck your own and make it if you don't get that idea in your head your already gonna fail. They are bad ideas in general but really bad long term use.

Yeah, I should of just bought my own truck, but I wanted to see if I would like being an owner op. Which I do just don't think leasing is the way to go. Better to buy a truck and lease to a company that is for o/o.

I've posted this before; I saw lots of success stories at Greatwide. They are friends of mine I worked with for years.
@tscottme may even know some of them in Goodlettsville terminal.

This story sounds like a Penske truck lease or so I've read about.
Walk or run away if you have a better option. Do not make the same mistake again.

I have to question your "lease". A true lease would keep you in the same truck, no matter what breaks on it. Even if you have to sit in a motel for a week waiting. You've switched trucks 3 times, was there paperwork confirming the switch each time ? Sounds more like you're a co driver. Anyway good luck.
