But if you leave the company, you got a pallet jack lol. What do those lift gate home deliveries pay anyways?

You just need a good run where you don’t get many of those.

I think that's a bit on the harsh side. R&L can be the best choice depending on where somebody lives. Norwalk, Ohio and Wilmington, Ohio are good examples. Those are two huge terminals located in the middle of nowhere. R&L is the only LTL game in town in those areas and would be the best gig a driver could get if they lived there.

I agree the buy your own pallet jack thing sucks, but I can think of a more fitting company to call the "Swift of LTL." They have lovely yellow trucks and their maintenance shops take more duct tape deliveries than parts deliveries.

I had to laugh at that last part about the folks with the lovely yellow trucks. My wife is currently fighting with them over a damage claim, and it has been quite entertaining to have her mad at someone besides me for a while.

MACK E-6 and Bob Dobalina Thank this.

I never understood how r&l could find so many drivers for their huge terminal in Wilmington when they’re out in the middle of nowhere. Some Drivers have gotta be doing some hefty commuting I’m sure.

Out here I was seeing convoys of new nausea-yellow Freightliner tractors headed down 93 out of Vegas and then I-10 in southern AZ for a while. Today I noticed a contractor pulling one of their matching trailers, just like that other company with lots of yellow on their trucks has been doing. Haven't seen one of the new tractors in local service, they were just passin thru.
