To further elaborate on that point:
I'm a POC and that color is beige.
When some A-hole (of whichever color, because racists do come in all colors) picks you out for exclusion, just move along. By excluding you, they're really doing you the favor of removing their presence from you. But if you want to sit in it and dwell over your victimhood and how powerless you are then, by all means, go right ahead. People love to get drunk on self righteousness nowadays.

There is a huge amount of interest presently about ones genetic makeup and lineage.
23andme, Ancestry, etc.
You would think with that level of interest of what happened leading up till now, there might be at least some interest of what happens moving forward. But it's probably ravist to think that, so obviously it would be wrong and likely forbidden by the authorities.

Whatever. OP didn't care enough to handle this at the time.

I’m pretty sure the “C” in NAACP stands for “colored “Artax Thanks this. -
The Ruling class , aka news media,
Is doing everything it can to promote and point out every little difference.
if you’re a straight white male, you can’t be offended , but if you’re anything else, you can be offended dozens of times a day and being offended is the most valuable currency possible at the moment.
you can only get your 15 minutes of fame by being offended .Artax, homeskillet and CowboyTim Thank this. -
The fact is if you are a straight single white male in this country you are a member of the most discriminated against group in the nation today

Wow....I just went through this thread. I'm way late on it but I feel compelled to share my thoughts. OP says she felt like some racist stuff went down. It just may have. I don't understand why so many members downplay it. It's no use speculating on it. I'm not buying the shift change logic because Sapp Bros is a pretty sizable, competitive truck stop chain. It wasn't any reason for the showers to not be clean. Maybe the workers did stink at doing their jobs. I can't say. It ain't for me to speculate. If someone feels they were the victim of racism or any other form of discrimination, we owe it to them to hear them out, without any opinions. Reason being because discrimination is a real thing, ESPECIALLY in our industry. Persons of color are just as much Americans as anyone else so why not hear them out too? Everytime I watch or talk professional sports I have to hear white drivers come up to me and have the same conversation. "I have lost all respect for pro athletes during these protests." They say that to me as of I care. They are using their platform to get some people heard, because they always get ignored. What's wrong with that? Pro sports is only entertainment to me but if they want to use their platform to further a message, I'm all for it. That same platform is used to give credence to the military, breast cancer, etc but race has to go hush hush. I think people need to get over themselves for a bit, take their personal feelings out of things for a change, and just listen. If someone has a grievance, listen to them instead of downplaying it. Just because you don't relate or it's never happened to you, it doesn't mean it didn't occur.

Shocking as it is, the aggrieved party here could be hypersensitive or just plain wrong. If you’re going to post in a public forum like this you should recognize that all opinions/experiences aren’t the same.Artax Thanks this. -
