Racism in truck stops 2021

You might have been better looking than her and she was jealous you actually have a career while she's jockeying a cash register in a truck stop at 4:30am...not to say that there's anything wrong with that, but you know women.

 

Myself I sincerely hope it was not racism and I doubt that it was. Sometimes there just are weird experiences and it is what it is.

I'm someone that believes the vast majority of people are not racist. It does not mean that it does not happen or that it does not exist, but I think it's a very small percentage of people. I think there is a much larger percentage of people that are just lazy and unprofessional and bad at their job.

 

Racism in trucking is real. Keep your head up and your eyes open nothing new under the sun. ‍♂️

Racism in everything is real. This is how I was raised to believe. I am a member of the human race. As are YOU and everybody else you come into contact with on these boards and in the real world. I have ZERO patience for anybody of ANY COLOR that practices racism in their dealings with others. I am one of the VERY few white southerners that went to a mixed-race church when I was a kid (1960s). One of my Air Force Basic Training TIs was a black man as was my first 1st Sgt when I got to my first duty station. To this day I have a lot of respect for those men. I am also VERY close friends with two black men that are safety critters and we are always texting back and forth about things. Now with this said I have seen ladies reach for and pull their pocketbooks closer when a group of black people walks close by. I also know some white cops that still to this day profile blacks.

I long for a day when all people everywhere across the globe will just be one race, the human race, and let's make this a better world. Racism in all its ugly forms is poisonous and toxic. I don't like racists regardless of their color! I am not sure I can say anything else on this disgusting topic!

 

There are several reasons the lady working the truck stop likely thought you were a lady of the evening:

1. Purchasing a shower. Most of the time truckers get showers as a fringe benefit for buying fuel. Purchasing showers happens, but afaik it's the exception not the rule. A lot lizard would have to purchase her shower as she has no truck or job in trucking.

2. It's 4am.

3. A female by herself.

4. A black chick in Utah (this is not very common)

5. Even after you left, you came back again for coffee. In her mind she then thought for sure this is a lot lizard. This person is literally hanging around our truck stop at 4ish in the morning. Going in and out of the store.

Not to mention women are catty and most that work a real job have very little respect for those renting themselves out to johns.

Likely the whole situation would have been different if you were using your comp shower from the fuel you just purchased. That's my take from what you have told us. Even a comment about needing washer fluid for your truck, etc . Anything that let the employee know you were there in your truck and for legitimate reasons would likely have disarmed the lady from her more hostile posture towards you.

Also, let me tell ya, it works both ways. There are more than a handful of times I've been in Gary Indiana or St. Louis or Memphis in the middle of the night, with an all black crew at a truck stop, that have treated me like I either wasn't there (cutting up, laughing, ignoring me at the counter for like 10 minutes), or responding with a stern rebuke to whatever it was I needed at the time. I have no doubt I would have received much better treatment had I been black.

The small liberal crowd of small hats in NYC that has an outsize effect on the national media and by extension setting of the national discourse has created a walking on eggshells type environment regarding race. They have invited the burning of our cities, the destruction of our historical monuments and caused great division among our citizens. It's no surprise that after being told over and over and over again that they are victims some black folks might take any situation, any slight as being somehow racially motivated. Those rabble rousers up there are trash and ought to be dethroned from their ivory towers. The damage they have done and continue to do to this country with their incitement and odd ideas on things like gender are a shame and a total embrassment to our country. People belonging to this same group used the same tactics of rabble rousing in Russia in the early 1900s, and once they got the people worked up enough to "overthrew the patriarchy" they then found themselves living in a prison for a country for the next 75 years or so.

If you think they do these things because they care about black people, let me ask you a question: Do you think people in general are less racist or more racist after seeing crowds of aggravated blacks burning our cities and defacing our historical monuments?

Further, this hunt for "Racism" around every corner and under every rock is pretty stupid if you think about it. Racism and discrimination are not the same thing. EVERYBODY IS RACIST. Why do you think the blacks live the same areas, pal around together, have their own music, etc? Because they prefer to be around their own kind, as do pretty much every race. The idea that this group from NYC is gonna rewire every human being to no longer prefer their own kind is stupid, as stupid as their idea that a person's sex is determined in their mind not by their genatalia and chromosomes. To say these people bother me to no end with the agenda they have successfully foisted upon "the land of the free" is a huge understatement.

I remember having a black male cashier in the Mercury Blvd Walmart located in Newport News throw my change at me. I promptly asked to speak to the asst manager on duty. A few minutes later an older black gentleman walked up and listened to me. A CSM was in the process of closing that register as I walked out. I later learned the Store manager watched the video and fired that cashier. I don't care what your color is, do NOT put up with being treated badly just because you are the wrong (color)! It's BS!

 

I'm not looking to get anybody fired. Somebody has to really, I mean really cross the line for me to go and rat them out to management. It does me no good to cost somebody their job. Maybe they are just having a bad day.

I'm pretty content with the idea people are inherently racist. I think the best we can hope for is that they try to be civil and respectful of one another when they cross paths. And that's pretty doable. The whole top down social engineering pogram that this once free people have been undergoing ever since Barack showed up on the scene? What a waste of our people's time and energy. I'm not sure anything has been achieved but to aggravate all the different groups and create more animosity.

 

Hating someone because of the color of their skin is just lazy. There’s so many better reasons to hate people.
