The wildest part about dispatchers that always gets me is they are not subject to random drug testing. And some of them are definitely overdue to go pee in a cup.fromAtoZ, Lumper Humper, Gearjammin' Penguin and 1 other person Thank this.

Anyone know anything about AAA Cooper? Are they a decent company? I am seeing some mixed reviews online and wanted to see if anyone had first hand knowledge.
Texasgordo Thanks this. -
It’s owned by a little company called Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings. Swift has been working to build out a nationwide LTL company, and from an outsider point of view, it seems to be working.
I have a friend who left FxF around the same time I did, who ended up at Midwest Motor Express (part of the AAA Cooper network). He likes it a lot more than FedEx, says he doesn’t feel like he’s under a microscope as much. Which is notable because I’m pretty sure they have driver facing cameras.
His main complaint is the condition of the equipment, particularly the AAA Cooper pups and dollys. MME as a standalone company used to run long vans only (or rocky sets where allowed), and they were much better maintained. I would expect that to be something that will be addressed with new equipment purchases, since Swift has been committed to throwing money around to build out their vision.gentleroger and road_runner Thank this. -
I remember MME from living in Montana. I think they were based out of Bismark ND. When I ran Butte with Reddaway, one of their drivers always showed up with a Rocky Set to the drop lot. Their equipment always looked decent.
Now I am in SC and I see AAA Cooper rolling around in older equipment for sure. It is weird seeing an MME trailer being pulled around down here, but Swift really took their time integrating these companies properly to avoid what happened with Yellow Freight when they tried the same with their subsidiaries.
I also heard they have DFCs but supposedly they are just event triggered. The outfit I drive for now has them but they are AI powered. They literally catch everything. Even stupid stuff like me yawning after being up all night. I am trying to find someone that is not this idiotic and controlling.
I am curious if AAA Cooper and MME have their policies merged so they are all on the same page, or if they are together as one but operating separately. Just wondering since your friend at MME might have much more leniency (or less) than a driver down here.
Appreciate the feedback though. -
Seniority isn’t all it’s cracked up to be sometimes.
When you sign up to run over the weekend, the runs that are definites go to the top man on the list, in this case me. Only thing is, the runs that are definites are both #### runs, with one being a short 8:00 AM meet-and-turn Saturday or the rail yard at 2:00 this afternoon. Fortunately that’s at least far enough away to be worth my while.
Meanwhile, we have a lower guy getting calls in the middle of the night to do a full turn trip to Richmond which I’d rather be doing right now.hope not dumb twucker Thanks this. -
As someone that was consistently bottom of the totem pole at Holland (everyone below me kept quitting or getting fired), I either got stuck with all of the weekend work or none of it. The struggle was real when you don't have any options.Cardfan89 Thanks this.

When I run extra on the weekends I ask dispatch what's available and then choose what I want to do. If I'm running on my day off it's going to be a direction and miles I want to do.
-
And they actually follow through with what they offered??
One of the last weekend runs I did for FxF they called and offered me a few choices, I picked one that was 90 miles away and a double turn pulling triples. Not a lot of miles but big money in drop/hook pay for triples. I showed up and grabbed my paperwork to see it was actually just two rail vans going down and bobtailing back…lost out on nearly $200 in drop and hook pay that I was expecting for the day.Cardfan89 and road_runner Thank this. -
They should all be under AAA Cooper policies and naming now. Not sure about tractors but I can tell you Swift is buying a ton of Trailers the past 2 years for the LTL side from Great Dane so trying to improve in that area. They are one merger away from being a nationwide networkroad_runner and jmz Thank this.
