So, after losing teh entire load as I said earlier, I had to restart it one day late. not re picked by the time I got back, nothing. On the plus side, I kept my truck (that they turned up to 65, which makes an ENORMOUS difference) and I told them I want a center divide trailer which is much much faster to unload.
The new trailer clicks out and shuts itself off a few times. Including overnight. Boy do we have soem great equipment.
you want to make money do you? you want to work food service do you?
Friday: 13hours 53 minutes logged. 520 miles, 6 stops, 700 pieces by hand. (then another 4 hours while they pretend to fix my trailer, while the Ryder guy drove it, no dinner, #### little sleep, yeah, I'm still pissed)
Saturday: 13 hours 49 minutes logged: (on elogs BTW, not paper): 613 miles, 3 stops, 500 pieces by hand. I literally drove the last 430 miles straight thru. no stop to pee, nothing.
I'm exhausted. But Thursday (just driving and the dead trailer breakdown), friday and saturday should pay about $1150. Yeah, do the math.
I'm still exhausted.

and the best part?
The wife calls me when I'm an hour out and says "no hot water, water heater is dead" (sure enough)
really, all I want is a shower and a real bed.

and more ranting.
My running hotel reservation is every thursday night. (it's $30, you can't idle the truck for 12 hours for $30), i call thursday afternoon to move it to friday. "oh no, sorry sir, we're full up tomorrow"
What? There's like 12 people in this huge hotel every week.
Oh, it's gathering of the nations (some indian festival), there isn't a room in town (Albuquerque)
great.....................

jeebus, just got in from the Nebraska run (and nothing broke) and the guy who used to have this run, passed away monday night.
Pretty downer mood obviously.
I barely knew the guy, but he'd been here 3 or 4 years I think.
wasn't sick, was in his early 30's and it wasn't a trucking accident. I'm not sure what that leaves, but he's gone.road_runner, Big Don and Shaggy Thank this. -
