This sounds just like some of the OTR wonder boys that arrive at our Hub with Full LTL loads from the west/east coast. Upon arrival, they go to the office and are given specific instructions. Drive STRAIGHT ahead 1/8 of a mile you will see the dock doors in front of you. stop on the pad and flag down one of our yard jockeys and they will cut the seal, spot your trailer or give you an assigned door. Now how can someone poosibly screw this up? well let the games begin! Drivers making u-turns heading back out on the road, drivers stopping every 5o ft. asking one of our employee's "Where do i go"? LOL you can see the docks right in front of you.

When I was on city peddle all the LTL guys would wave. I remember I became friends with a ABF guy and one day we were walking out of the customer and a OTR guy was asking a question about the dock. We told him the best way to,back up since it was a tight area, and his response was we don't know what we are doing because we drive day cabs and aren't real truckers... The ABF said something back to him as we walked away. Pulled out of the doors and watched the OTR guy attempt to back in. Was doing so for over 20 min... Finally we went to spot and after he got it in the ABF guy said maybe next time you will listen when us "fake truckers" try to help you real drivers with tips. Lol
to to be honest I only met a few OTR guys who were decent, most just had attitude problems and not very personal.road_runner Thanks this. -
Here's my new wheels on the Ram. They are from a SRT-10 ram

OTR guys are fixated on the trailer/GPS/Bluetooth/Dispatch/Trailer/plotting next direction/trailer/baby mama drama/ Pets on lap/ Trailer /Cb radio and will never notice another driver waving on surace streets.
The worst OTR drivers..... The lazy, refuse to leave the cab and have the engine running. They ask for Procedures/ directions and still have to repeat it 6 times. Nothing is more annoying then trying to hear/talk over a running diesel big rig. Lately this is where i get a chance to wave to a OTR driver. " yes the weather is great" and continue my wayLast edited: Apr 20, 2014
