TTR is the Truckstop Buffet of the internet, and we all know which driver @Kenworth6969 would be.

    All BS, no substance.

If you've actually gone through this thread you would have seen many many posts of stats, data, new articles etc.

People called bs in the beginning and over and over again I've posted proof the market is going bad and here we are 178 pages later where it's become obvious for everyone now.

Beaver9, Dino soar and Rideandrepair Thank this.

    • Auction prices have come down to reality (although still seem a bit expensive to me)
    • Tons of Owner Operators with equipment for sale however they must not be motivated to sell with their asking price 10% to 20% above their purchase price
    • Trucking Authorities Revocations hit a record high
    • China shutdown
    • Target and Wal-Mart with excessive inventory
    • Diesel +$5.00 and more
    • Mortgage demand at a 22 year low
The purge is in full swing. I still contend this will be a sharp V-shape recovery and by late Q3 excess capacity will have left the market and we will get into the normal holiday push. But make no mistake the next 2 months are going to be brutal.

On the other hand, how many of these one truck operators have equipment that meets a different carriers requirements? And does the driver meet carrier requirements as well? A deluge of O/Os moving to larger carriers gives carriers the opportunity to be very selective.

Just because you're having a bad time doesn't mean everyone is. Your situation isn't unique and it's a long way from being representative of the industry as a whole.

Still, although I hardly am a fan of this fellow - @Kenworth6969 (nothing personal, but you are the last guy on the site I'd want to follow...you strike me as a chronic malcontent, as it is next to impossible to be encouraged by anything you ever posted that I can remember) - he and his thread now do the public a favor.

I am glad it stays on the top of the owner-operator's page serving as a "Read this before you do anything!" warning. Most of the general public gets allured by someone elses' boast stories and they want to enter an independent owner-operator world without having anything niche-ish planned, basically relying only on load board and factoring with a little bit of cash and a few credit cards, wishing for big rates but big rates are gone and big payments stay on.
The objective thing is that times are not very good in enough segments of the industry for this thread to have more than enough credibility.
