Reefer hauler here. I regularly frequent DAT load board for Nogales AZ as that's my base and where I regularly load from, and rates for tomorrow are averaging around $3/mi to any destination, add a little more $$ for delivering to terrible market areas (i.e. CO, ID, northeast states), except CA, which is around $2.5/mi from what I could see.

DFW area seems to be averaging around $2.7/mi for long hauls, close to $4/mi for short hauls.

I don't even wanna post what dry van rates are averaging, it's not pretty to look at.

I don't really understand the differing philosophies with all of this. It really is not difficult to understand.

We are at a 40-year high with inflation and fuel prices are the absolute highest they have ever been in the entire United States. Inflation is still growing, and in fact on the last report it's higher than they even anticipated. Not to mention all of the instability around the world that all this nonsense has caused. It does not take a genius to look around you and see what is happening.

I highly doubt there is anyone that looks at this that is in this industry that says, hey this is great I've been waiting my whole life for a situation like this! I'm so excited! I mean the circumstances around this business have never been better!

I think certain people are just in denial. They don't want to face what's coming. Some of you are talking about this straightening out in a month or two? A situation like this that came about because of the reasons that it came about, is not going to go away in a month or two. Our economy is going to be affected for some period of time going into the future probably and possibly years from now. Trucking itself may go up or down some but this whole picture of this is not going to lead anyone to the promised land. Here's the simple bottom line of it.

Under these circumstances if you have a truck that hauls goods for profit, eventually this is going to affect you if it has not already. Ironically I think it's the people that say, it doesn't affect me, I have no problem I'm doing better than ever I think you're just crazy I'm doing great... I think those people very well may be the ones that get clobbered the hardest because apparently they're the ones that are going to get clobbered with their eyes shut.

I just think it's humorous that people don't want to accept what is happening for whatever reason. The fact is, it is happening. This is a huge deal. Do any of you guys remember the 70s? Well this is going to be the seventies exponentially multiplied worse.

Some will do better and some will do worse, but if you think that right now you're going to ride off into the sunset and all you're going to encounter is sunshine, rainbows, and farts that smell like roses, you're sadly mistaken.

It's okay to be optimistic that you can get through this. It's just silly if you shut your eyes and pretend it's not happening. Because it is happening.

And it is going to affect everyone.

You said 3 or 4 times what is happening and it is happening. But didn't describe it and what.

    Could we get a noun?

We have runaway inflation in a pretty sucky economy.

Remember when there last was runaway inflation?
    1980 or so.

It took 21% fed funds rate to stop that and 18% mortgage rates lol.

What do you think would happen to the debt bubble economy we have now if that happens again? Government debt is at 30 trillion? How will that even be served with higher rates?

What happens to everyone that over paid for a house and then mortgage rates go to the moon and nobody wants to buy anymore?

I've known what's happening since this thread started, and his other threads. @Kenworth6969 trolling. Nothing more, nothing less.

Markets go up, they come down. Sometimes each way with volatility that corrects itself.

We are entering a planned total economic transition to a digital programmable crypto currency.
The American petro dollar will soon be dethroned as the world's reserve currency .
Saudi Arabia is building a smelting plant to melt down China's gold because it has different markings and weights from the EU and London.
Iran has removed all cameras and enriched uranium to 90%. They are aweek from a nuclear weapon. Israel will not permit them to get a bomb.
Our world is about to change and the reason 99% of people don't see it comming is normalcy bias.

No, the US dollar will not be dethroned. There are no viable alternatives and no country would be willing to take on the debt it takes to hold that status.

If we're going to programmable crypto currency, what's the point of having the large gold deposits?
