Going through TruckPaper today and I just shake my head at these asking prices. I gravitate toward the newer 389s and they are still asking 10% to 20% over their purchase price. I assume their markup is to cover their finance charges they still owe but it's going to get ugly with repos and liquidations.
Call me crazy, but I think the best buy right now are gliders. Elkhorn finally has some new gliders in stock and I think a smart buyer would look hard at one. I replaced my two 389s in the past few months but if I didn't I'd strongly look at one....I might still. Between getting better fuel mileage and no DEF I could easily save $10K annually in fuel costs.Jarhed1964 and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
I've got a 10 year old 600,000 mile freightshaker.
First $100,000 takes it.
If it was cheap then you should be worried.
Has been reliable so don't wanna give it up.Chieftains and Rideandrepair Thank this. -

It's that thing that sounds really good when you buy a new truck but whenever you need repairs it's 50/50 if it's covered under warranty and will always take 1 week to get approval before the OEM will pay to fix it.
