Rates are crashing and fuel to the moon!

Most are probably too busy doing short haul to post.

 

My o/o started on Monday and finishing up this morning

OH-TN 520 miles $1450
TN -MI 680 miles $1650
MI-TN 620 miles $1600
TN-MI 615 miles $1800
2435 miles, plus 300 miles deadhead counting from and to home yard, so total $6500 on 2735 miles.

I did even worse. Monday spent all day at home doing repairs, Tuesday morning could not book anything decent and only in the afternoon a broker called me offering $1400 on 520 miles to WI, got an extra $100 out of him, so with deadhead ended up being 600 miles for $1500.
Eau Claire, WI was absolutely dead, ended up deadheading 160 miles to get loaded to IA. 300 miles for $1050.
Then booked IA back to MI for $1500 on 500 miles.
Total for the week $4050 on 3 days of work and 1670 miles including deadhead.

I am taking the rest of the month off and going to Europe lol
Gotta recharge before getting into this again, the spot market is mentally exhausting right now

 

It is too bad that some desperate person or some mega will probably take that rate. If a struggling O/O takes it, they will pocket the money and take another cheap load with goal of pocketing cash while not making truck payments. Rinse and repeat until the truck is repossessed.

 

I figured they all musta found a side gig aka side hustle.

 

I might have to try and wiggle myself into that short haul lane, maybe when I find that special connection...

Had 10 new Michelin's put on the truck, oil change, yearly inspection, and got it washed this week. Bill was about $8k for everything...

Not sure what I was thinking though, you know with the sky falling ( from what I hear on here ) maybe I could have blew that money on something else more productive.
