Well I might be done…
got my 5th stop off this morning with a little time to spare before my last 3 tonight, figured I’d go to the yard, wash the truck, tinker a little bit, etc made it about a mile from the yard and a there’s a blind curve on the hill, with a 4 wheeler over the double yellow passing “slower” traffic, locked em up but no where to go, took a pretty good hit, 4 wheeler is in the icu, I’m starting to get really sore, see what insurance says about the truck but the front horn/spring hanger is shattered and the axle is pushed back towards the battery box
this is my second, serious, not at fault accident in 11 months and I really don’t think I want to find out if the 3rd time is a charm for killing me
Rates are crashing and fuel to the moon!

Got an appt with my primary Thursday, I was Able to walk away.

Glad you’re okay. Sucks that you’re going to exhaust their insurance fast and getting anything more on top of that would be like trying to squeeze blood from a turnip.

Things are changing. Next time you go to the Fuel aisle look how many foreign companies and drivers that are operating here. They fly the drivers here and fly them back home. They are willing to work for a lot less, because they have no intentions of living here. The money goes further back in their own countries. They are not likely to be paying 1 to 2K rent a month in their countries. Even the big mega carriers relied on a spot market for backhauls. They’re almost not worth doing anymore because the foreign companies are doing it for so much less. Unless you were in a market, where the foreign companies have not come in yet… Industrial, Fuel, agriculture.. etc Your wages are only going to be falling. The company can no longer pay you if they don’t make any money. People talk about when the downturn will end and things will get better. As long as these foreign companies set up shop here in an operate in this market, adding motor carriers to this flooded market at a lower cost of operation instead of a mom and pop that does things proper here. It will be a very long time. We can talk politics, but since we don’t want to, we can pretend that’s not the reason why things are the way they are.. I find it crazy that none of the media even discusses where all the new MC‘s came from. Yes, there are plenty of homegrown MCS that have grown in the surge.. We hear of a lot of guys through this forum. Most of the MC’s that have been created our own and operated outside the US. Set up shop here and fly guys in and out. Don’t believe me talk to the foreigner that’s driving for US America express Freight carrier Or whatever made up weird company they drive for. Since English is my second language, and it’s not hard for me to carry a conversation with someone I don’t know, I’ve asked quite a bit.Last edited: Oct 12, 2024
