Hey @double yellow and @icsheeple. Are you seeing rates in the crapper also? I pull a flatbed and rates are usually pretty good. This summer I lowered my standards from $2.00 to $1.60. I've been home now for over a month and ready to head out and I'm floored at how low the rates are. Are you two seeing the same thing?

There's a load to Bozeman, MT for $.86 cents a mile. Really!!!! To a crap hole for that.

My truck and trailer is paid off and I have no bills. I don't see how anyone can make any money if they have a loan on their equipment. No wonder Swift cancelled all their new truck orders and laid off people.

It must be bad. My regular broker hasn't called me in a month. I've pulled only three DD/SD loads for him in ~4 months. He says he's dead. This winter could be real ugly.

I've never ever been one to join in when people say rates are bad but this is bad. The best I'm seeing if I dead head 300 miles to Scranton is $1.47 to Texas! Maybe I'm spoiled, I dunno.

Here's something to try while you sitting at home dreaming of the good old days. You and I started running for hire about the same time....circa 2006 IIRC. Compare the rates today to back then with the fuel taken out. I'm not sure what that will show, but maybe todays rates will look better.

Yup, 2006. I'm sure I got screwed but my first load was from Mass to Vernal, UT for $1.35
