Got pulled into an inspection station on I5 tonight Heading south towards Camp Pendleton. The only issue was how to send our logs to the Web and not an email with Omnitrax ELD. My wife finally pulled out the instructions that came with the ELD and there it was on a laminated quick guide.

FYI, California wont accept the log emailed and it must be uploaded to the DOT website.

We now have a shiny new sticker on the windshield :) but the delay made us miss sunset over the ocean from the base hotel.

Of of course California had to make it difficult. And cogratulations on passing, although you and your wife don't strike me as the type to take shortcuts on things like maintenance. Hopefully that shiny new sticker will keep them off your butt for the next 90 days or so.

Good thing you had the instructions because they would have got you for that too. Welcome to California as a native who was born and raised here I can tell you our scales are nothing compared to many I’ve been to out of state.

Sunsets happen everyday. Passing a CA inspection, not so much.

I can’t get them to pull me in for inspection. I’ve had this current truck for 4 years with a 2020 green sticker. Even those roadside inspection wave me on by when I thought it was going to be my day. Must pay off to keep a clean shiny truck.

Same here but I can always count on getting inspected in NM. In fact my last 3 inspections were in NM..2 this year and one last year.

One was a 2am so sneaking by at night doesn’t always work!

Every inspection I’ve had regardless of the location used a unique code for sending the logs. Gets easier the more you have to do it.

Most times I’ve just handed the officer the unit and they took care of it.

Recently in NM the logs would submit but came up invalid files on his end. He let it slide and just told me to straighten it out with my service provider. Did a quick scan of my logs and I was good to go.

Just run a tight ship and you won’t have any problems.

The last company I worked for used ‘Big Road’ every time I got inspected the trooper(Tx DPS) he asked to see my logs, I handed my phone to him, he said ‘never mind’, then continued on with the inspection.
