hey
im looking for peoples opinion. I recently got a reckless driving going 90 on a 70. my question is, can i still get my cdl and become a truck driver?. im 23 years old and my whole life ive been on the road. my father has been driving for 20 years. i drove and f350 and hauled cars around many states with a 3 car trailer. all i got is this reckless. no dui and no accidents. i was just coming back home to my family and cop caught me going 20mph over going down hill. i have a pretty fast and smooth car that you dont truly realize at times how fast. can i become my own operator for ch robinson?

If you, for some strange reason, decide to become an O/O, be prepared to fork out a bunch of cash for that 20 over citation. Insurance companies don't like to see that kind of stuff on someone's record, especially a CDL holder.
TequilaSunrise and Dominick253 Thank this. -
You will probably required to get a pre-hire letter before any school will admit you.
Carolina Cargo is the only company I'm aware of that will hire with a recent ticket like you have. -
When I started driving I had a 2 yr old 33 mphover ticket on my record, but no reckless op the recklessop is going to hurt you.

Probably going to have to put your driving career on hold for awhile. Most decent companies will not hire you with a reckless driving ticket. Going the route of owner operator might be cost prohibitive when it comes time to pay your insurance

Thank you guys. I know Insurance companies will hurt me. not gonna let this get me down so im gonna make it happen and become own operator. its the best way to go.
