what is the red spray coating/sealant you see on the factory electrical connections like on the SAM cab box?

I'm starting to get some green stuff creeping from the cables up to the SAM cab module up front. I've used blackstar rust converter before on rust that works pretty well, is there any kind of converter spray that works like that on copper oxide? I like the idea of a liquid that can soak in to the corrosion/cable and stop any more moisture getting in, I really don't want to go futzing around undoing the factory connections around the BRAIN

the freightliner dealer said they had some kind of conversion spray that could neutralize the green copper oxide and also protect/seal it from moisture. Corrosion X says safe on electronics. I really just need something liquid that will displace moisture and leave a protective film. (not WD-40 :biggrin_2556:)

here's a pic, red factory spray is around the whole thing, they go heavy on the nuts. they put it on other big connections too, the thick thick cables to the starter, and alternator. if it lasts 600k miles it's got to be good stuff

i found this Deoxit voodoo that actually dissolves corrosion via chemical process like blackstar. that's what I need to soak into the cable and stop it going any deeper, I got one thick ol battery cable that's starting to get it too. but it's not time to just redo everything yet, seems like if you chase little whack-a-moles too soon they just move something else you can't see and make bigger whack-a-moles for me, Cascadia is a wire nest and mines engineered with a bunch of fleet spec cooperate $$$$$ choices with inverter install and grounding and heater/tripac, it's all really tight and wrapped up, but every time i nurse a gaggle of little things for 6 months to keep rolling, happy the tech at some point (fixing something actually broken broken) is like "u know your sh is fd p right? you uhh want me to do that too?" and then in like an hour it's no more gremlins, for maybe a season at best

Freightliner dealer here uses the permatex stuff whenever they work on electrical or setup a new chassis with a body. They sell it in the parts department. 3M stuff costs almost twice the Permatex depending on where and if you can find it.

When We bought our new ‘99 and ‘03’s the batteries were painted with that stuff from factory. So sloppy you Couldn't read the labels. Lol. White colored trucks and the firewalls next to the cab junction plugs were over sprayed with with that stuff looked like crap all over everything.

You're looking for a product called GLYPTAL , it's the OEM red sealant you get from the factory .. it's expensive but nothing comes close in performance for corrosion protection
