What would you say is average fuel consumption for a reefer in a 24 hour period sitting in the yard?
Lets say its running on continuous at -10.

Most of us use a gallon per hour, to calculate the usage.
Many units will run longer than that, but it's dangerous to play that game too often with a 25 gallon tank. -
Depends on alot of things.Ambient temperature, product temp when loaded, condition of coolin system and type of unit, condition of trailer.Could use alot more fuel if any of these are below normal. What danc694u said is close if everything else is normal.

KB3MMX Thanks this.

the yard should take care of fueling it. -
tell u we have a 50 gal. tank and usually use around 13-17 gal, per 24 hrs
depending on conditions and product like produce needs continues but typical frozen foods can run on start stop mode extending the length of how much fuel it burns -
Like someone mentioned about making sure the fuel gauge works, make sure you have a small but bright flashlight so you can pop the cap off and look in there to check.Don't rely on that little needle when you pick up a trailer.I usually would pick up a trailer and go top it off to make sure.
