Reefer temps

I have used that reefer unit before and it should display -10 as a temperature that you set it to and that would be the correct temperature setting, no complexity to it because the most that would happen is someone will come outside and validate that temperature setting and they'll go by what I referred to. It might take a little while to get to that setting after loading but the product inside will not be jeopardized in the meantime.

Also I would go by what the BOL says not some random person, as the receiver would validate the BOL not hearsay.

 

Run at what the BOL's state.

 

-10°F below zero is what I would say. I don't know your reefer (btu). But maybe don't show up early for delivery to give you more time to cool.

 

-10 equals 10 below zero. If you are in the US use Fahrenheit, not celcius unless the BOL/RateCon says otherwise. NOBODY references freezing in any BOL I've seen. The RateCon or the BOL will state the temp. All you can do is follow what is written. Don't ask 50 people you will get 52 opinions. It's on the RateCon or BOL or it doesn't count. Nobody you are asking is going to pay for the rejected load or spend times getting rid of the rejected freight. You will.

My reefer trailers could be at temp in an hour or less, even in 100 F weather. Leave the doors closed until the last moment when you arrive at the customer.

 

If the reefer freezes up the temp won't go any lower. Defrost is necessary to keep the reefer components from freezing and not being able to reach very low temps.
