What has been done to these units? Do they have the latest updates, etc?
How are they compared to the new ones?

    They're selling the 500 and 700 units.
Each is updated to the latest maps and data. Further data updates are free via the net.
The newest units out there are the 510 and 710.
    They're good units. I use a 700 and it's great.

Wow, these seem really feature intensive. I like this feature "Truck-Specific Routing: Customize routes using your own truck's length, width, weight and height plus any hazmat information.", also the route warnings and customizations. That can be a big help for correcting errors with heights, or other notes or warnings to add.

Can the Data be uploaded to a computer? Say for mileage, fuel and so on? Is that included, or does it require a separate program? How does this compare to the competition? I just spoke to a friend that was interested in getting a GPS dedicated to truckin.

Everyone, these are factory refurbished TND 500's and TND 700's.

    1. They will have the latest version that is currently in production.
    2. The maps will be current as of last year, with the ability to update soon.
    3. 1 yr warranty
    4. They have all the features that the current TND 500's and TND 700's have, except for the features exclusive to the TND 510/710.
    5. As with current production units the mileage can be exported to a .csv or .xls format.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    3 bills for a refurb ? . . . . . Hmmm,1 year warranty
Current price for the new 710 is 5 bills and next year(see above 1 yr warranty)
Puts the working man where ?
    Technology Transition

    Working man says . . . . 5 bills ain't working towards the mortgage
    3 Bills ain't got the Better Half near Interested . . . .
If you can stand the wife and wait another year you might not find your pillow in the dog house.

Seriously, with phone App GPS currently destroying the stand alone offerings on outright performance(get your where your are wanting to go)
Is all that "fluff"(features) really worth your coin?

I have both, Garmin Dezel 560Lmt and the TND 710 as well as an Iphone
They are writes off's to me so no big deal.

Performance wise the phone GETS IT DONE,done as in DONE.
The TND is a fun toy and works a hair better(features) then the Garmin.

Bottom line is I get what I "need" from a $20 data plan on my phone, the stand alone units offer a big screen view for $480 more

    :biggrin_25511: you decide . . . . .

Does anyone know if the 700 is worth the extra $100 with the exception of the larger screen would there be any other benifits?
