I don't think so, as the answer seems obvious, but I thought I'd ask anyways... But is it possible, if you have a CDL, to rent a tractor, and trailer to use for a personal move? I don't have my own authority. I have a company setup, and a DOT # if that makes any difference. I just thought maybe there's a loophole somewhere, seeing as it's not really a commercial operation, in terms that it's not a business transaction..

I don't see why not. A cdl is a license to drive a vehicle with those specifications.

It's hard enough for a single driver company with their own authority (O/O) to get a rental from most CMV places. The most likely roadblock, other than the company simply doesn't want to bother, would be insurance coverage on a CMV being rented for personal use.

You'll need to have a commercial policy and have them added as a Holder.
