I need to get the low down from the guys on here who have done a complete fuel line replacement on a 379 pete. What hose did you guys use? Do you replace fittings? What size line should be used? The truck is a 97 and im not sure if the lines have been replaced ever, So id like to get info on how its done so i have an easier time doing it.

if you have rubber lines, do yourself a favor and replace the whole system with plastic. Regular plastic airline will work just fine. Been running mine that way for years. Free advice and worth every penny.

Good to know. What size do I need ? What about fittings?

Plastic air line is just that - for air. Buy DOT approved hose for that job.
NightWind and Klleetrucking Thank this. -
Do you have a fuel restriction guage in your truck? If its reading normal I wouldnt waste your time. If they are weeping diesel through or something than i would change them.

I wouldn't worry about it then.

I dunno, I use rubber fuel line I don't know if they are better or worse but I do know that they have been reliable. Not sure what size you have now, but unless you have some sort of flow issue I would keep them the same 5/8 ID I think. You could go 1in that would get rid of restriction, but that may bring other issues to the door. Better to just replace IMO
