Re: Nick's BBQ and Catfish, Carlisle, AR -
Stopped in their Easter Sunday about 11:00. They have moved into the new location and closed the old which helps provide some additional truck parking ... however
I had my usual small catfish plate. The catfish is the same, however the french fries are now a frozen-processed "seasoned fries" (I'm never a fan of seasoned fries if I can avoid them) and the hush puppies are tiny (only 2 served on the small plate) and not as good as they used to be (not the same as they used to be). I'm going to have to move that restaurant down to a lower priority. I can't speak for their bbq as I always stop their for their fried catfish filets.

Restaurant of the day is Pine Cone Restaurant in Johnson Creek Wisconsin. Very low prices on generous meals. Had the onion steak (hamburger), with stuffing, mashed taters, wild rice, a humongous roll, and mountain dew for $9 plus tax.

For the last 2 years I've been working the I-5 between San Francisco and Seattle. There are very few decent places to eat along the entire route. There is one in particular that I'll go out of my way to visit, and that's the Rolling Hills Casino in Corning California. They have a huge truck parking lot that's clean with security, great showers, spotless bathrooms, and the best buffet this side of the Mississippi. They have every kind of food imaginable, but my favorite is the prime rib. Every Tuesday and Thursday nights they have half off for those of us over 50 as long as you have one of their Player's Club cards which are free. So you get to gorge yourself with great food for $9 which beats the heck out of fast food or a Denny's any day. Whenever possible, I try to stay and eat at casinos. Nevada always has good food at border towns for a great price.
My other favorite stop was in Colorado on the I-25 south of Colorado Springs called Obie's Fillin' Station. Great BBQ, a full bar and an overnight lot. They have a pup trailer in the back that they converted to a smoke house and their BBQ is really great.jaxwinner Thanks this. -
I did not see Lamberts caffe in Sikeston, MO listed. That has truck parking and foid is great. Free sides brought to you after you order your entree. And the rolls are huge.

Taco Rienda 9115 US-259, Nacogdoches, TX 75965 has good, solid home made Mexican food and reasonably cheap prices. Nothing fancy here, just a clean Mom and Pop place. Room for five, maybe six trucks at once. We stop in often on trips between Houston and Tyler and always see truckers eating there too.
They are open 7 days a week and now do breakfast alsojaxwinner and Trucker61016 Thank this. -
There's a steakhouse in Demming, NM called "Ranch Hand" steakhouse house I think on 10. Look for the billboards. They have a very limited truck parking area but I've always found a spot. Its pretty decent.
I tend to frequent places that care enough to offer us parking and will try any of them at least once.jaxwinner Thanks this. -

Jamestown Truck Plaza (Cenex)
Jamestown, ND I-94 exit #260
Not much of a truck stop but has fuel, store, and a great restaurant where all the locals eat. Seems to be American owned and operated. Classic American fare that is always well prepared. Great home made deserts. Always friendly wait staff.Last edited: Jun 14, 2018
