It's been stated, but many of the major LTL carriers have a history of longevity with guys who are willing to start at the bottom and stick it out. They base job assignments on seniority and the drivers with most years in get to choose the highest paying or most ideal shift available to fit their lifestyle. Some carriers assign trucks by seniority, so the senior guys get the newest or nicest trucks. It tends to insure that drivers will eventually retire with the company.
