I've seen some 2007 motorcoaches with Series 60 14.0L EGR engines (w/DPF) that I could purchase and run in California now, but CARB is updating the rules effective Jan 1, 2023 to require all diesel CMVs to be EPA2010 compliant. As I understand it, that means I would needs an engine with SCR / DEF.
Is there any way I could retrofit a 2007 coach to be EPA2010-complaint so that I can continue running California after Jan 1, 2023?
Retrofit DEF for CARB?

I'm not sure why you would want to go through that trouble...?

IN the beginning. People were installing dpf and having headaches. Some even burnt down.
That don't appear to be the case anymore. Most were actually liking the results. Least, that's what they were saying on the radio. That could just be all poop talk though.
It took a few years for aftermarket dpf to be of use. It'll take a few years for aftermarket whatever to work for 2010 also.KB3MMX, Diesel Dave, Dave_in_AZ and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm scratching my head trying to understand why anyone would want to go through all that trouble just to get into commiefornia.....

I wouldn’t even worry about it. CARB doesn’t check at every port or scale. I’ve seen them only a couple times.

If the CMV is registered in California they have DMV suspend the registration or will not allow it to be renewed. I know of 2 bus fleets being shut down like this.
