I drove for CRE, Schneider, and National Carriers for a year or so, then had to return to Tesla. While there, I started treating a cancerous skin growth with RSO (cannabis compound). The spot went away :). However, was asked by National to come back, and though I had stopped the RSO a week and a half before driving to Texas, unfortunately I discovered RSO stays in your system quite some time and I failed the screen. Have since completed the Return To Duty class and I’m ready to start driving. Sorry about the length of this thing. Required some explanation. My question/s - can anyone recommend a trucking company, which hires guys like me (who have completed RTD); next, thinking about buying a ‘24 Cascadia Q1 next year, and I’m curious how RTD impacts me as an owner operator. Mentoring very much appreciated.

If you are going to lease onto a carrier and not have your own carrier authority. It will be the same as being hired as a company driver. If you ran your own company I don't believe it would matter.(you will still have to have a drug policy in place random drug testing). It depends on what you are going to do with the cascadia if you decide to buy it.

Thank you. I’m planning on paying cash for the Cascadia and starting my own company. Plan to invest in Tesla Semis as soon as the tech is dialed in.

    Why?

You are entering into an industry that has been struggling and a lot of owners/operators are on the way out.

RTD may affect your insurance, I know mine would not insure an O/O with this.

My question is you didn't research RSO, it is high in THC and is off-limits in this industry.

You will find employment but it may take a while, be patient because it is a carrier's employment market and will be for at least the second quarter 25.

Copy, TY. Perhaps I’ll sit tight and monitor the industry. I think we’ll have a better idea of the lay of the land in November.

Where are you located? Some companies hire RTD drivers.
