My experience with Cheema Freightlines LLC was frustrating and disappointing. Here's why I wouldn’t recommend this company to other drivers:
Dishonesty
Cheema consistently misrepresents itself. What they promise during onboarding—like good miles, preferred lanes, and specific running hours—rarely matches reality. They set expectations they never deliver on, leaving drivers feeling misled and undervalued.
Low Miles = Low Pay
Despite coercing drivers to stay out for their entire 70-hour workweek, Cheema rarely provides enough miles to justify the time away. Most weeks, drivers struggle to reach 2,500 miles, often falling well short of that number. Low miles mean low pay, and the company makes no effort to address the root cause—poor planning and dispatching.
Moving the Goalposts
Cheema has a bad habit of constantly shifting the terms of your employment. Agreed-upon days off, preferred lanes, and running hours are subject to change regardless of whether it works or not for the driver.
Toxic Management
The management culture at Cheema is toxic and dismissive. Many managers refuse to return calls or emails when drivers need support. Instead of addressing legitimate concerns, they deflect and pin the blame on the drivers. This lack of accountability creates a hostile and unsupportive work environment.
Blame-Shifting
Whenever issues arise—whether it’s low miles, scheduling conflicts, or breakdowns—Cheema consistently blames the drivers. Planners, dispatchers, and management are never held accountable for their mistakes, leaving drivers to take the fall for problems they didn’t create.
Unrealistic Expectations
The company expects drivers to stay out for their entire 70-hour shift, even when they provide less than 2,500 miles a week. You’re left wasting time sitting around with no loads, but they still expect total availability. It’s a huge waste of time and incredibly frustrating when you’re away from home for minimal pay.
Conclusion
Cheema Freightlines LLC talks a good game but fails to deliver. Between the dishonesty, low miles, poor management, and constant blame-shifting, this company makes it hard for drivers to succeed. If you're looking for a trucking job, do yourself a favor and avoid Cheema. You deserve better.
Drivers, beware!

Your experience with them is totally the opposite of mine. I’ve been here over a year, and have had none of those problems. I tell them when I want to go home, and they have gotten me there on time, every time. I’ve gotten 2500 or more miles most weeks. The only month I missed the mileage bonus was when I took 2 weeks off. Every time I’ve emailed or called someone, they’ve gotten back to me, and I’ve never been blamed for anything that wasn’t directly my own fault. I always stay out my 70 hours and have never waited more than a few hours for a load. I’m usually preplanned before I deliver my current load. I can’t speak on dedicated lanes, or specific days off. I run western 11, and stay out for 2-3 weeks at a time.
All of that being said, there is a lot of room for improvement with them. Planning could use some improvement for sure. They could pay a little better.
I think it just goes to show that one person’s hell is another person’s purgatory.Knucklehead, mjd4277, Lonesome and 4 others Thank this. -
As someone with a family, I required two full days off each week. Initially, this wasn’t an issue, but over time, they began to renege on those commitments. I noticed a significant shift in their approach after the Lathrop expansion ramped up.
That said, I’m glad your experience has been positive. Sharing both perspectives gives potential drivers a broader understanding of what they might encounter and may help them decide whether Cheema is the right fit for their needs.Knucklehead, Lonesome, nevadabadgirl and 1 other person Thank this. -
So what would be defined as "preferred running lanes? My curiosity looms........
I know my definition of preferred running lanes are the ones that pay me. -
So few who criticize their employer here provide adequate details of such thus leaving us readers with far more questions than answers.
But not you. No, sir.
All points made and well-explained, unlike the hit-and-run drama usually incurred here.
I spent nearly a year driving for that other company just over the bridge. You know the one, Kamway. Never had any of the aforementioned problems you so eloquently laid out. Something to consider.
