Your way is probably the best, but I wonder if Minimizer makes anything? Probably not as the lengths between bolsters probably varies too much, but it's a thought.

I’m sure you could make the work, but it’ll cost a heck of a lot more. Depending on how much length you need plastic mud flaps will do. It’s actually the same material as what I use. But I think I needed 45” in length. Mud flaps are 32 or 36” at most.

I'm not sure how minimizer types would handle being run over, even hinged with one end detached and sitting on the tires.

    Conveyor belting
Used it on our yard tractors.

There’s a trailer around here that used light duty leaf springs with conveyor belt or some type of heavy rubber mat on top they can be run over but not parked on. If I see it stationary I will try to take some pictures

Adds some weight but I can put tires or tracks about anywhere I want or need. But, adds some weight makes it a little tougher to do brake jobs….

Does your setup have removable outriggers…it looks there’s a split along the length of it

    cke and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this.

    You speaking of this…?

If so that’s just a temporary width and length extension I added, still only 102” wide. I needed to haul a Caterpillar 16G road grader, and with the rippers on it I didn’t have enough total length to get my neck back on. So those are just extensions I added temporarily to allow the steer tires to roll out past the end of the trailer so I could get the neck on. I meant to take them back off but just never have.

When I go to Florida in February I never know what either of my 2 customers will be buying, sometimes it’s best to leave it on lol…
