I have just over a year of experience and I am looking to move carriers. I need a company that will allow me to bring my 6 year old. Anyone have any good companies to try?

    Chinatown Thanks this.

You're going to have a tough time finding a company that can insure a 6 year old. Most places that allow passengers want them to be at least 18. Maybe @Chinatown can offer some suggestions?

    Scampo and Grumppy Thank this.

I took mine all the time in summer and the company (Canadian) Just made me sign a release form and it was fine. The only issue ever was some of the places I’d deliver to. I hauled some equipment into a power station facility being built and they told me he had to wait in the side of the highway and it was -20°C. I proceeded to leave with what they wanted and they changed their mind quickly.

    Where is your location?
Dozens of companies allow child riders, but don't have the minimum age on the websites.
    Try this one:
Drive With Us - Bison USA

    Scampo Thanks this.

Britton Transport at one time allowed children, more than one, to ride along.
Bison USA purchased Britton, so don't know how it works now.

    Scampo Thanks this.

Yeah after you find a co. that will allow a 6 yr old to climb on board, the biggest problem will be shippers/consignees allowing youngsters on their premises.

I would think it mostly depends on the insurance company's policy with the carrier. The previous carrier I just left didn't mine as long as you signed an agreement form. The new carrier stated from the start, 'NO rides' what so ever not even pets. Whe I asked why it's because their insurance company forbids it. Plus a good majority of carriers had an insurance increase in the last 2 years and they didn't.

Scampo, Concorde and Chinatown Thank this.

What’s the plan? Strap the kid in a booster seat up front for 11 hours..homeschool it while you’re running down the interstate.

Sorry, just feel bad for your kid. Really no life for a 6 year old besides how dangerous it is.
