We booked a load with Allen Lund CO to load at 1600 waited most of the day accepted there tracking was to the shipper by 1600 the shipper said they moved / cancelled the appointment we called the broker after 2 hours of on sight with reefer run at -10 and 90 degrees out side they said no load we will give a truck hired not used for 150$
We have 300k investment with truck and trailer and they think 150$ make all better
I would not book with this company again! End up dead heading 75 the wrong way to pick the load up. They don’t put a PO# on the tender so our dispatcher can call and check the status of the load. They don’t care about the truckers all they care about is that you follow there policies and they write them to screw the trucking company’s doing the work! never again!
we ended up dead heading the truck to MN 400 mile so we could pickup the load booked ! We live up to our obligations unlike so companies.

If I stopped working for every broker that I received a tonu from…I’d be delivering pizza in a KIA. You deadheading 750 miles isn’t the broker’s problem. It was your business choice that made the situation worse.

Allen Lund is one of the easier brokers to work with in my opinion. I don't think Allen Lund is the problem. You're pointing your anger in the wrong direction. You really should be mad at the shipper. They're the ones who cancelled on you. You just caught a bad break and such is trucking. Every company has big money invested in their equipment. Every company takes an L from time to time. You deadheaded a lot to get a load. Try not to do thay next time lol. Chalk it up to the game and do better to tomorrow.

Lonesome, flood, Eddiec and 1 other person Thank this.

How is it the agent fault you have $300k truck and trailer and why should they care...?

CUSTOMER canceled the load, how is that the agent fault..?

You choose to deadhead 750 miles. That's on you. Why should the agent or customer care how far you deadhead

    No
No he had went 75 miles in the wrong direction, load cancelled. Then deadheaded 400 miles to next load he already had booked, instead of cancelling it. So he lost the load and added 150 miles to his total Deadhead.

The appointment was not confirmed by the broker, not the shipper. We only booked the load to get or truck to next load that we had to pick up. After the load was canceled two hours after we were at the shipper left us no options to recover the load between. truck hired not used 150$ i is insult. This truck and trailer worked o cooling the trailer for 4 hours we mobilized the equipment to the shipper. Yes we can mark it up to a loss. But this happens to Frequently in the industry. The problem is getting to be that the culture is order extra trucks and just cancel it if we don’t need it only 150$
Maybe is not the broker but they are the point of contact and they are only as good as there paper work. They did do the job correctly. The truck didn’t get loaded. That is a fact.

I agree with you it's really screwed up how brokers cancel trucks all day every day like it's nothing. And yeah $150 is an insult. You can amend the contract for more but good luck with that one. They'll book somebody else who's good with the ol "industry standard $150".
