So far im pleased with my purchase of the roadpro cooker oven. I saved up a bunch of fuel points and bought it from pilot. Its really upped my cooking menu tenfold. So far I've cooked many things: steamed veggies, spicy pork sausages, frozen hot pockets... pretty much anything you want to heat up. I try a potato but it didn't work-it might if you put some water in to kinda steam it though. I haven't done a second try of the potato. Its great if you want to heat your cheese pepporoni rolls to get them nice and greasy and you can just grab one and eat it! I haven't had any problems with it at all yet whatsoever except when I turn it on I tend to start seeing more of those spaceships in the sky that shoot lazers down around all over. Usually they lead me to where I'm going anyway so I don't mind. Its a great product and I recommend it to anyone whose thinking about buying it.

A potato will take several hours. I've done a pork roast with veggies and potato in about 3.5 hours. Using an oven bag helps the cooking and clean up.

I use some foil for some recipes to cook with out mess but when there is mess I fill the rig up with water and steam it for a half hour to and hour and then dump and wipe it out with paper towels. It cleans it well... if im not satisfied with the cleanliness after that then I spray it with a citrus solution I got from my hippie sister which is supposed to be organic(and you can brush your teeth with). The device is becoming seasoned and cooks well. I think they charge way too much for those thick aluminum liners in the truck stops so I just use plain old foil or just cook stuff right in it. I stay out for 2-3 weeks and just wash it when I get home same as my coffee maker, but like I said I spray it with citrus cleaner occasionally to clean it some. Ive noticed it doesn't cook well with dry heat but if you put a touch o water inside it cooks the food more thoroughly.

RoadPro is OK. I had more longevity out of the Tracker I bought. They're hard to find, though, since Pilot took over Flying J. The J used to sell Tracker, but now they carry RoadPro stuff instead. And RoadPro works for a while, just not as long as Tracker.

You can get much cheaper foil trays at the evil walmart.

Whats the lifespan of the roadpro cooker? ive had mine a couple months now, and Id be happy if it lasted at least a year the way I use it. I talked to someone today saying theirs crapped out after a little while but I didn't catch the reason why it stopped working. Seems like a simple electric heating device to me. Maybe a loose wire? A problem with the heating element? -
It's always the plug. Splicing on a new one or soldering the wire back on inside the plug is beyond the skill of the average truck driver it seems.crabcracker Thanks this.

Sad if it is true.
Get a prewired plug and solder the wires instead.

oven roasting bags work great in them they won't melt and no mess as long as you don't puncture it
