I just bought an oil filter from Caterpillar for my RTLO 22918B transmission, which turns out to be a small engine oil filter. Now my transmission guy says I should use the Eaton filter because it is rated at around 150 psi, higher than the CAT filter.
The previous filter was a Fleetguard, pretty sure engine oil, had no problems. He says the engine oil filter could give problems with the higher transmission oil pressures, and they can't afford warranty problems because of the risk.
    Any thoughts on this?

Edit: It was Fleetguard HF 6107 which is a high pressure hydraulic filter, but when I looked up the Cat equivalent they come up with Cat 7H 2327 which has Engine Oil stamped on it, and that's the one Cat gave me.

Wow! You guys have 22918? Most of ours are 16xx18 transmissions. I guess you have higher torque motors than we do because of those road trains.

    Ozdriver Thanks this.
