Use to be a fairly decent place. But drivers that I've ran into in the last 7 yrs say that they aren't making enough money. Clean Harbors was there main customer. But RDW went up on the rate. Then Clean Harbors started hauling there own freight. RDW has a tanker division that was started up. However several o/o's and company drivers have said the tanker division is pure garbage. And they are looking for something else.

My cousin use to make around 1500 p/wk at RDW back in 2010. But he left after the weekly pay kept dropping off. RDW is primarily a hazardous waste carrier. But after Clean Harbors bought safety clean things really changed for RDW. One of the sons of Big Wood use to own Action Resources. Another hazardous waste carrier. And they would piggy back off each other. But Stan sold Action after a driver had a bad wreck.

But in all from the talk of drivers. I dont think you can make more than 80k p/yr at RDW these days. I could be wrong, but thats the way drivers have been putting it to me. And at this point no one that I know drives there anymore.

Thanks for the info! It's sad how so many tanker outfits has kept driving wages lower and lower especially since everyone in that industry requires high cost cargo insurance and bonding. Suttles Tank Leasing used to do hazardous waste when I started with them around the time Robbie D Wood. Mills still getting closed making for less work. Yet the owners of outfits like CleanHarbors and now CSX since they own Quality Carriers pay their executives to keep more of the pie until they can't find lucid qualified drivers who knows what they are worth. Back in the late 90's O/O made 80% of the gross just pulling the tank now it's 65% at most places.
