    Thanks, that's a thoughtful reply.
DOT probably has a more professional operation and better benefits but maybe a physically demanding job, which may be OK.
For me, it will come down to geography - want to pull back to part time after I buy some land but not sure where. I knew about DOT and would like to get a list going of potential part time gigs.

Well, They advertised "61cpm + for experienced drivers" but maybe that includes bonuses.
I see some complaints about short hauls and too much waiting but a company as big as Roehl will surely have some high productivity accounts or lanes.

LOL. You would think that. Roehl average length of haul is at most 300 miles. Just wait until you get to Chicago and do short hauls for weeks on end. Yes Roehl pay is all scorecard base. I worked there for almost 1.5 years but the 7 and 7 fleet is a good gig if you dont mind slip seating. Also just as an FYI should something happen to your partner in most cases you have to keep the truck moving until the find someone else

Yeah, you’ll definitely get aquatinted with rail yards if you work for Roehl. And, you’ll get on a first name basis with Georgia Pacific folk. And, you’ll rapidly be able to name every back wood goat trail in the mid west. Lol

They're a good company if you consider working 14 hours a day running 200-300 mile loads twice a day in the same 3 states for weeks on end to be considered national OTR.

They lie a lot to drivers as well. Just read your BOL for the honest time you have to arrive. Most of their drop and hook customers you can arrive any time on the date stated in the BOL. They just give you almost impossible "appointment" times to run you like a hamster in a ball and to make their numbers look good. Also if you have an appointment with a live load or unload, good luck because 90% of the time they never set an appointment to begin with so when you get there you have to wait hours to get worked in.

The only thing Roehl does right for the drivers is their maintenance department. You will never have to "deal with it" driving for Roehl when it comes to the quality of your truck. I could say the plastic cap covering this bolt on the dash bothers me and they'd order a new cap no questions asked.
