This place is really a mess. They paid about 2/3 of the money they owed. WTF? If I am driving, I expect to be paid for every ###### minute. Well, they have different rules here. CAUTION!
Rolfson Oil... $38x70 hrs advertised - Truth 50 hrs

Wait until you understand that the Trucking Industry is exempt from Overtime pay as of 1934.
If that company paying 38 over 50 hours comes to around 1900 a week, I don't see a problem. I would be happy to take that job.
Remember Trucking is Horse, saddle and you last. There is always a certain amount of time lost around big rigs. -

Lazy would be one word for it.
Another would be a certain percentage are not happy unless they are complaining about something. -
Trucking requires.
Unpaid labor.
Unpaid time.
No other industry has these requirements. The reason it continues is, one, it’s legal and two if you complain you are branded as a lazy whiner.Canadianhauler21, Western flyer, Dale thompson and 2 others Thank this. -

If a driver is working...then they should expect to be paid. Period end of story. The idea that you should wait at docks, repair shops and not be compensated or that it is part of the business is not the drivers problem. A company driver works for the owner of the truck and not the customer. The driver has done their job of picking up the freight and delivering it safely to where it needs to be. Along with making sure that the truck, trailer and himself are physically ready to do the job, and making notifications to his/her supervisor when it is not.
The cost of truck ownership is not the drivers problem, it's the owners. If you cannot afford to pay a good driver a good wage for all time spent in the truck ( which is about $75K on a W-2, plus benefits, bonuses and vacation time in the truckload sector) then don't hire drivers. You should certainly not expect to hire good quality drivers for anything less than that!Western flyer, ibcalm19 and azspike Thank this. -
