Hey everyone. I’ve recently graduated from TDI in oxford ,al. Passed my road test on the 9th of June. While during school most people discuss van and flatbed, don’t hear much of tankers. While during research on flatbed jobs that Sunday and Monday after coming home from school, I stumbled on this forum and got interested in Tanker jobs. This passed Monday(18th) , I took my Haz-Mat and double-triples test and tomorrow I’ll be getting my fingerprints, background and twic card ready ( already had my tanker when I took my permit) . At the moment I’m not looking for OTR. I would like local or regional/dedicated but if push to come to shove, I’ll do it. So far I’ve applied for Schneider, CTL, tankstar, tidewater, Trimac, McKenzie , svtn.
The guy from Superior is checking to see if my school is approved or not.
I don’t qualify for McKenzie
Haven’t spoken to Schneider yet
CTL is looking for OTR
Service Transport also looking for OTR
I’m out of zone for Tankstar and Tidewater
Trimac has been the most successful for me, I spoke to a recruiter and she told me to take care of my hazmat(which I did) and to fill out the complete app and be looking forward to phone interview and road test
Are there anyone companies you guys recommend ?
How is the Road test for Trimac.
Thanks in advance, Jon

Trimac is a good outfit. If you ever decide you want OTR, Trimac has that also. This way you can get a taste of OTR without changing companies.
If you decide in a year or so to try something different, look at Thyssenkrupp in Montgomery. You'll have experience then and this company might give you a chance. Probably has good pay and benefits. This company runs hazmat tankers, dry van, flatbed. This is a German owned company that's international.

Thanks @Chinatown for response and quick reply. I’ll definitely looking into it!

I believe Trimac will want to see a new CDL grad staying closer to home for awhile before they give you the opportunity to run their system.

Hey, that definitely works for me! Lol

Have an interview with Trimac Monday and maybe road test too. Anyone know how the road test is?

Varies from branch to branch because there's no standardized process. If you can walk and chew bubble gum at the same time, you're good.
