Typically I’d go via Whitehall, Dillon, Arco

26 out of Carey to Bliss is generally faster than running all the way to Mountain Home on 20.

    sawmill and Oldironfan Thank this.

Exactly what I was going to mention.

55 to 41 to I15 at Dillon is legal for a truck. They were replacing a bridge right by Whitehall, but it’s probably finished now. If not there’s a detour up 2 to 41.

Yes, there may still be construction on 55 but if there is you just have to go west out of Whitehall a few miles and cut back south, it’s all marked as a detour.

    Oldironfan Thanks this.

I do not care for U.S. 191 I have to stop for Bison crossing before. But that was before elog.

I wouldn’t want to drop all the way to Idaho Falls anyway. Then you’re pretty much committed to going to Pocatello and staying on the interstate the whole way. And that’s quite a few extra miles

    Oldironfan Thanks this.

191 is a good route only annoyance is the old fellow at the coop always wastes my time dipping my tanks for purple fuel on a new truck lol

    Oldironfan Thanks this.

You can add 1 gallon atf red fluid to each tank and fuel won't change color.

If you have a slower truck you may as well enjoy the scenery and fewer miles by running acroo through Arco. But if speed is available then maybe interstate will get you there faster. But that’s just me. I will always take a shorter scenic route that’s easy over an interstate route.

You can add a gallon of used oil to 150 gallons of red fuel, and it all turns black.

    Oldironfan Thanks this.
