Used to be, you had a hot one, you ran it out, and took a break later. I don't see how you folks can put up with modern trucking today, and want to make a buck, anyway. The hot loads usually made up for an otherwise crappy week.

My dispatch kept giving me impossible deadlines. I finally realized when I pull it off with every trick I know it just validated them. Now I still work hard, but I'm not ruining my life over their incompetence. My logs verify I did everything right. They have been up to 4 hours off.

From NC, I probably would have ran 40 30 20 10 8. And eliminated the laborious journey from flagstaff to Phoenix, assuming you could have planned your way through DFW at an optimal time. But that’s no longer an option.

Yeahhh... I wanted to go that way but at the time I wasn't given the option. I made it 710 miles and stopped with 2 minutes left on the drive clock/70 clock/all the clocks. I don't think I'll make it and dispatcher doesn't want to chance it so we're swapping loads. Ohhh well. I hauled balls so nobody can't say I didn't try lol. If the truck could do 70 or 72mph I would've made it.

Eh, my dispatcher didn't demand lol. After a day on the road I told him it was going to be #### near impossible. He told me to run it out and get as many miles as i could and we'd cross that bridge when we came to it. Lol

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

The best freeways to run are totally dependent on the time you’re on them. The 405 is busiest freeway in the California maybe the whole USA. At 3am you can cruise on it on the governor. At 5:01am it becomes a cluster #### until about midnight. Crashes excluded.

40 to 15 to 215 to 15 would be my choice at the right time of day.

During rush hour just pull your truck over and light it on fire. That’s about the only choice. LOL

I swapped in NM about 40 miles from Arizona. I took that one on in to California. The team ensured the Super Hot T shirts made it to San Diego lol.

Open that baby up to 75 mph and hit the pedal while your still in AZ will be your only way to make up time only alternative would be keep heading west on I - 40 till you hit Needles then take Hwy 95 south till you hit the I - 8 again.
